Quality of Service

Although OpenSim still is alpha software, it is already quite stable. However; we cannot guarantee any service level higher than our best effort. This means that there may be long service disruptions or instabilities from time to time. Problems may also cause data losses.
Do not use our regions for business critical applications at the moment. We especially discourage any use that may cause financial or physical damages to objects or people. You use our services at your own risk.

Service Management

We use service monitoring software that restarts OpenSim servers whenever necessary, for example if the server process has crashed, hangs or if it consumes too much memory over time. In seldom cases the service monitoring software does not detect problems. In these situations our renters can use in-world Dreamland Metaverse Terminals or a web based Service Management Tool to restart their regions manually.

Backups

Daily backups and weekly remote backups are stored for at least 4 weeks. To restore a backup contact us.

Money

The PayPal money module allows users to pay each other US$ cents. For all transactions users are forwarded to the PayPal web site, where the financial transaction is done, outside of our responsibility. We cannot guarantee anything in respect to financial transactions, even in the case of loss of money or if money may be sent to wrong recipients.

Rules for Land

Each region owner gets estate manager right and can define rules for his regions (covenant and access tools). Unless you own isolated regions, public access should be allowed. Please build things that fit to your neighborhood. Better move your region to another spot on the grid, than to start troubles with your neighbors.

Behavior & Legal Issues

In general it is expected that all residents behave friendly, openminded and help each other. Mediation is used to try to solve conflicts. Any kind of grieving, violation of privacy or disclosing private information about other residents is not tolerated. After a first warning this may result in a permanent ban and being reported to the grid owner. Real life laws and regulations have to be followed. Any activies that are illegal in the United States (the location of our servers) are strictly forbidden and will be reported to public authorities without exception.

Adult Contents

Regions with adult contents are allowed, but have to be categorized appropriately. It is the sole responsibility of the region owners to ensure that all visitors of such areas are at least 18 years old and explicitly express their wish to see such contents. Before any adult contents is visible, visitors have to confirm this by pressing a button within a certain time (max. 30 seconds). These confirmations have to be logged. Visitors not responding in time or wanting to leave have to be ejected from that region.
